The AES (Angewandte Elektroniksysteme) GmbH is the developer and manufacturer of the SPORTident timing system.

The business has his registerd office in the "heart" of Germany, in Arnstadt (thuringia).

In the early 1990 the requirement of an electronic timing system became recognized and the SPORTident system was developed by the staffers of the AES GmbH.

The engineers were  experienced sportsmen and orienteering runner and they have known, what was the most important fact of an electronic timing system.

Today, SPORTident is used in many sports, for example ARDF, mountain biking, orienteering, triathlon, also health care activities like nordic walking or hiking.

At the moment, 12 people are working in the SPORTident-team in Arnstadt and very much employees are working in offices all over the world.
In 17 nations are dealer and seller, which look after our customers.

SPORTident is used in 43 nations.
