Do you know how to activate your SIAC before a race?

It’s clear: Before every race, you must punch the CLEAR Station with your SIAC – this deletes all previous data from the card.

But what does it actually mean to "activate" your SIAC? When activated, your SIAC switches from passive to active mode – the so-called AIR+ Mode – allowing you to punch checkpoints contactlessly.

Here’s how it works:

By punching the CHECK Station, you not only verify that all old data has been deleted – the station also activates the AIR+ Mode on your SIAC.

For extra peace of mind, hold your SIAC next to the SIAC Test Station. If the LED blinks and you hear a beep, the AIR+ Mode is active.

Still unsure? Just punch the SIAC Test Station manually – and check again. Then you’re ready to go.
